Tuna Can Cabaret #2

Smith’s Tuna Can Cabaret came to life for one night at Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz, California 26 August 2023 at 7:30 P.M. Advance tickets were available through the Kuumbwa website. Dave Eagan was Engineer. Tom Ehrlich was Photographer. Dohn Grube was Stage Manager and Master of Ceremonies. Drummin’ Dave Dreyfus worked the front door. Zachariah Shook manned the back door. Oliver Elliot Grubb participated in the sound check and broke the second set with the tune “Summertime.” Aidan Hosler appeared at the break to whisk four passengers away on his pedicab.
The project is supported privately and by the Performance Studies program at University of California, Davis. Smith is a writer and practitioner on and of Bubble Theory specializing in alternative economies and running the show.
